Sadie L. Williams, age 95, of West Chester, and formerly of the Rio Grande Communtity, died Monday November 14, 2005 at the Chesterwood Village in West Chester. Born September 11, 1910 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late David R. and Etta B. Morgan Altizer. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Floren Shires Williams who she married on June 4, 1930 and who preceded her on August 31, 1994, by 2 Daughters: Janet Hurlow and Karen Kaladow, and by 3 Brothers.
Sadie was a retired school teacher, who taught for many years in the Rio Grande Elementary School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and a member of the Rio Grande Garden Clum, Cora WSCW, and the Clavary Baptist Church Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by 2 Sons: Charles D. (Janet) Williams of Lexington, Ohio, and Samuel S. Williams of Mason, Ohio; 6 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren, and 1 Great Great Grandchild; 1 Brother: David (Etta) Altizer of Patriot; 3 Sisters: Hazel Rice of Gallipolis, Garnet Blazer of Fairborn, Ohio, and Edna Johnson of Gallipolis.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday November 19, 2005 at Calvary Baptist Church in Rio Grande, with Pastor Heath Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.
