Louis Merrill McCormick Sr. age 74, of Gallipolis, died Saturday November 26, 2005 at Holzer Medical Center. Born March 14, 1931 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Harvey Merrill and Virginia Pearl Gray McCormick. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a son, Louis Merrill McCormick Jr., by a grandson, Michael Watson, and by a sister, Gwinetta McCormick.

Louis was the former store manager of Johnson Supermarket in Point Pleasant. He was a United States Marine Veteran. He was a member of Patriot Masonic Lodge #496.

He is survived by his Wife: Betty Ann Darst McCormick who he married on July 11, 1952 in Indiana; Son: Earl 'Butch' McCormick of Mansfield; Daughter: Deborah McCormick of Gallipolis; 4 Grandchildren: Derrick and Kent McCormick, Mandy Smith, and Heidi Wachs; 3 Great Grandchildren: Tyler and Brianna Wachs, Kylie McCormick; 2 Step Grandchildren: Alex Neville and Ashley Hollingshead; 1 Brother: Charles (Sharon) McCormick of Indiana.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 30, 2005 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday form 6-9 P.M. Masonic services will be conducted at 8:45 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home by Patriot Masonic Lodge #496. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Organizations.

betty we have only been neighbors for a short time. but in the time that i knew mr. mccormick. he was very kind to me and my family. im very sorry for your loss. if you need anything were just across the street.

We will always remember Joe best as the manager of Johnson's Super Market. He was always very good to us and a fine man and friend. We would like to extend our condolences to the Betty and all the family.
