Glenn R. Johnson, age 70, of Gallipolis, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at Holzer Medical Center. Born April 25, 1935 in Ironton, he was the son of the late Jess McKinley and Dorothy R. Wilson Johnson. In adddition to his parents he was preceded by a daughter Deborah Kay Thompson.

Glenn was a retired Southern Ohio Coal Company employee for American Electric Power, he retired after 28 years of service. He was a United States Army Veteran. Glenn was a member of Centerville Masonic Lodge #371 of Thurman, member AASR Valley of Columbus, Aladdin Temple Shrine, Eastern Star #283 of Gallipolis, The Gallipolis Shrine Club, Pt. Pleasant Moose Lodge, and the Knights of Pythias, and Naomi #55 of Gallipolis.

He is survived by his Wife of 28 years: Carolyn Fielder Johnson of Gallipolis; Former Wife: Marlene Kuhnert of Cheshire to which they had 4 Children: Deborah Kay Thompson (deceased), Robert R. (Christine) Johnson of Marion, Randall G. (Rebecca) Johnson of Patriot, and Tammy Jo Burns of Fords, NJ; 9 Grandchildren: Tony (Laura) Thompson, Seth (Stephanie) Thompson, Jessica R. and Brigett Thompson of Jackson, Adam Johnson, Jamie Gallati, and Lonnie Barnes of Patriot, and Chris Hunt of Cleveland, and Jason Burns of Fords, NJ; 5 Great Grandchildren: Shasta Hunt, Chris Hunt Jr., Charles, Trevon, and Lauryn Thompson; 1 Brother: Lousi (Betty) Johnson of Springfield, and 1 Sister: Linda Duey of Wilmington, IL.

Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 Second Ave. Gallipolis with the Pastor Herman Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Jackson. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday (today) from 6-9 P.M. Masonic Services will be conducted at 8:30 P.M. Friday at the funeral home by Centerville Lodge #371. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
