Denver Harvey Houck, age 85, of Crown City, went to be with our Lord and Saviour on Wednesday January 11, 2006 at Holzer Medical Center. Born April 29, 1920 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Jerome and Rosie Elliott Houck. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife Wilma Maxine Rice Houck who he married on January 10, 1945 in Gallipolis and who preceded him on May 2, 2002, also preceding him are 4 brothers, 1 sister, 2 granddaughters, and 1 great granddaughter.

He was a retired farmer, and attended Addison Freewill Baptist Church.

He is survived by:

3 Daughters: Anna (Jim) Camp of St. Mary's, OH.

Teresa (Earl) Ireland of Gallipolis

Lisa (Charles) North of Crown City

5 Sons: Denver W. (Polly) Houck of Sebastian, FL.

Roger (Mary) Houck of Gallipolis

Vernon (Ellen) Houck of Crown City

Stanley (Debbie) Houck of Gallipolis

Charles Houck of Gallipolis

19 Grandchildren, and 19 Great Grandchildren

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Saturday January 14, 2006 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Barcus officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home on Friday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. And at the Church on Saturday one hour prior to services.

Pallbearers will be: Floyd Wright, William W. Houck, Roger F. Houck II, James McCarty, Todd Houck, and Justin Ireland, Charles E. North, and Denver W. Houck Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jim Camp, Earl Ireland, and Mitchell Ireland.
