1917 - 2006

Arbeautis Rice Walburn, age 88, of Gallipolis, died Saturday evening March 11, 2006 at her residence. Born April 2, 1917 in the Swan Creek Community in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Alva and Veva Richie Waugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Harry Walburn.

Arbeautis was a retired employee of the Gallipolis Developmental Center, and volunteered for the Red Cross at Holzer Medical Center. She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Middleport.

She is survived by:

Daughter: Janice Houck (Robert) Burge of Houston, TX.

Step Daughter: Aunda (Gene) Klein of Middleport

Two Grandsons: Erin Burge of Charleston, SC.

Andrew Burge of Honolulu, HI.

Two Step Grandchildren: Michelle Wilson of Shade

Eugene Klein Jr. of Columbus

Four Step Great Grandchildren

Sister: Justine Neal of Crown City

Brother: Calvin (Lenice) Waugh of Crown City

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM. Friday March 17, 2006 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the charity of your choice in her memory.

I am a niece of Irvin Rice and so sorry to her that Arbeautis has died. We didn't get to see her very often but she was a very sweet and lovely lady. Our sympathy to the family at this trying time. May God Bless
