Virginia Louise Penick, age 86, of Gallipolis, died Tuesday morning December 31, 2002 at Holzer Medical Center. Born January 19, 1916 in Gallia County, she was the daughter of the late Louis R. Green Sr. and the late Pearl Gates Smith Green. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband; William A. Penick, by a Son; Robert Green, by a Sister; Bessie Smith and by three Brothers; William, Franklin and Alfred Green. She was a homemaker and a member of Paint Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by her Children: William (Diane) Penick of San Diego, CA, Yvonne Morris of Gallipolis, Roger (Robbin) Penick of Columbus, Gates Ann Penick of Gallipolis, Charles Penick of Gallipolis, James (Michelle) Penick of North Carolina, and Kim Jamison of Gallipolis. 32 Grandchildren, and 42 Great Grandchildren. 2 Brothers: Louis R. Green of Gallipolis and Charles Green of Urbana. 1 Sister: Mildred Lee of Gallipolis. Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday January 3, 2003 at Paint Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Edward Buffington officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home on Thursday from 5-7 P.M. In leiu of flowers contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society.
