1912 - 2006

Virginia L. Bane, age 93, of Morehead City, NC and formerly of Gallipolis, died Saturday March 18, 2006 at Carteret General Hospital in Morehead City. Born August 4, 1912 to the late Clark and Hattie Jackson Chevalier. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband Maurice Wilson Bane, a son Gary T. Bane, and by 2 Grandchildre: Greg and Mike Bane.

Virginia was a retired Nurse. She taught crochet to groups at Carolina House, which they knitted baby afgans, which were sent to other countries to those in need.

She is survived by Daughter: Linda Cumberland of Pine Knoll Shores, NC; 2 Grandchildren: Rusty Myers and Mary Malhiot both of Pine Knoll Shores, NC; 4 Great Grandchildre: Amy Malhoit, Robbbie, Micharel, and Erin Myers; Daughter In Law: Shirley T. Bane of Gallipolis.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday March 24, 2006 at the Grace United Methodist Church with Pastor Doug Stockton officiating. Burail will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 P.M. and at the church on Friday one hour prior to services.

Dear Shirley, While visiting this website to send condolences to the Ellcessors, I see that Virginia pasted away also. I just wanted to say what wonderfull memories I have of Virginia and all of our years at Ohio Chapel Church. Sounds like Virginia was doing Gods work right up to the end ( crocheting baby afgans). May God touch your heart during this difficult time. Love, Libby
