Marjorie Hall Plymale of Gallipolis, Ohio died Sunday May 7, 2006 at Holzer Medical Center after an extended illnes.

Marjorie Othella Hall Plymale was born the second of four children to the union of John Thomas Hall and Cora Davis Hall in Bethesda, Ohio across the road from the Bethesda Church. Almost 92, Marjorie was born on June 14, (now known as flag day) nineteen hundred and fourteen.

Marjorie was a graduate of Gallia Academy School class of 1932, where she was a member of the girls basketball team and later attended Rio Grande College. On June 18, 1934 she married Jahn Matt Plymale Jr. in Huntington, WV. To this union four boys were born: John Owen (deceased), Paul Joseph (Phyllis) of Gallipolis, Thomas Elsworth (deceased), and Michael Hall (Linda) of Gallipolis. She has three grandchildren: Marcia Plymale (Mike) Fowler, Barry Allen (Amy) Plymale, and Jody Plymale (Roger) Hall; four great grandchildren: Christopher Bowman, Joseph Plymale, Carita Gardner and Burgandi Plymale, all of which reside in the tri-county area.

Marg was an employee of the OHE and GSI for over three decades, she served as Pay Master and later as Business Manager. Mrs. Plymale was active in the social and civic life of the community. She belonged to several clubs and organizations and was a past President of the Englis Club. As a life member of the Grace United Methodist Church of Gallipolis, she continued her mothers work and served in all of the Circles thoughout her adult life.

Mrs. Plymale was preceded in death by her father, bussinessman, educator, politician and first City Manager of Gallipolis, John Thomas Hall, her mother Cora Davis Hall, three sisters: Leola O'dell, Ella Thompson, and Matilda Janes, three half sisters: Elta Folden, Cora Queen, and Jessie Talcott, two half brothers: Clarence and Oney Hall; her husband of 49 years John Matt Plymale Jr. and her two sons John and Thomas Plymale.

Services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday May 10, 2006 at the Grace United Methodist Church. Burial will be held in Mound Hill Cemetery under the direction of Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday May , from 6 to 9 P.M. The body will lie in state at the church from 12 Noon until 2 o'clock service Wednesday May 10.

Pallbearers will be Robert Lee (Bob) Thompson of Ashville, Ohio, Tommy Joe Thompson of Columbus, Ohio, John Bradly (Brad) Thompson of St. Albans, WV, Mike Larry Fowler of Gallipolis, Barry Allen Plymale of Bidwell, Ohio, and Roger Allan Hall of Thurman, Ohio. Serving as honorary pallbearers are William H. (Bill) Janes of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Frank Thomas (Chip) Janes of Naperville, IL.
