Paul V. Mitchell, age 84, of Patriot, died Monday April 24, 2006 at the VA Medical Center in Huntington. Born April 14, 1922 in Lawrence Co. he was the son of the late George D. and Nora Maude Turner Mitchell. In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife B. Elladean Straight Mitchell, by a sister Irene Belcher, by a brother in law, Billy Straight, and by a sister in law, Virginia Agnes Brumfield.
Paul was a World War II Air Force Veteran, having served as a gunner on a B17. He was a retired employee of Hairston Chevrolet, where he worked in the parts and service departments. Paul will be remembered for his love of animals, and the care that he gave to any animal that came to there home. He was also well known for the way he kept his vehicles clean, and for his many friends. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Saturday April 29, 2006 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Jan Thornton officiating. Burial will follow in Flag Springs Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the time of service.
Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail.
