Ernest E. Sheesley, age 77, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday evening July 19, 2006 at Holzer Medical Center. Born July 29, 1928 in Lower Burrell, PA. He was the son of the late Clayton and Elizabeth J. Minhinett Sheesley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his twin brother Edward Sheesley.
Ernie was a graduate of the University of Hard Knocks. He worked as a food service director for over 40 years. He also owned and operated Sheesley’s Restaurant in Shelocta, PA. For 14 years. The last several years he was an employee of the Gallia Auto Sales. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gallipolis. He was an active member of the Gallipolis Shrine Club, and the Shrine Clown unit. He also was instrumental in starting the Shrine Klown unit in Elkins, WV. Before moving to Gallipolis. He was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels. Ernie also dearly loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife Carolyn Ann Hanshaw Sheesley who he married January 21, 1967 in New Kensington, PA.
Also surviving him are 4 children, Timothy (Elana) Sheesley of TN., Janice (Larry) Miney of Latrobe, PA., Ray (Nora) Shau of Marietta, and Roy (Jo) Shau of Marietta, 8 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, a sister, Aletha Frantz of PA. and a brother, Bill Sheesley of FL.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Saturday July 22, 2006 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral Home with Rev. Tim Louma officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 PM.
Masonic services will be conducted at 8:00 PM. Friday at the funeral home.
