Joseph A. Shrader, age 77, of Gallipolis, died Wednesday morning January 8, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born August 29, 1925 in Martins Ferry, Ohio he was the son of the late Ray and Ruby Crawford Shrader. In addition to his parents he was preceded by a Son, Joseph Terry Shrader, by a Sister, Betty Lindsey and by a Brother, James Shrader. Joe retired from the Ohio Valley Electric Company and was a World War II Navy Veteran. He was a member of the following organizations: The Methodist Church in Wheeling, W.V., the Masonic Lodge in Bellaire, Ohio, Gallipolis Elks Lodge #107, VFW #4474, American Legion #27, Cliffside Golf Course, and the Old Gallipolis Golf Course.

He is survived by his Wife, Imogene Goldsmith Shrader who he married January 31, 1947, by a Son, Gregory (Chandra) Shrader of Gallipolis, by 3 Grandsons, J.D., Drew, and Scott Shrader, and by a Daughter in law, Brenda Shrader of Belpre.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 11, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Rev. Robert Ingram officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the charity of your choice. Just read the newspaper and saw that Joe has passed away. I would like to take this opportunity to express my regrets. I would really like to either attend the funeral or the calling hours, but because of prior engagements I will not be able to do either. If I can be of any help, just give me a call.
