I was deeply grieved to learn of the passing of Alva. He was a sweet and smart man, well loved and admired. I, along with everyone else who knew him, will miss him very much. Your sorrow is shared by everyone who knew him. I send my love and heartfelt sympathy to your family. There are no words to properly express the sorrow and sympathy I feel for you now.

We would like to send our deepest sympathy to your family. You would not remember me nor my wife, but I remember Alva from years back, when he was a Point Pleasant Police officer. I remember him going from the city to the Sheriff's Dept. and on to Gallipolis. My brother's Bill and George were more his age, but I remember him coming to our home in Bellmead in Point Pleasant to visit on several occassions. Though I was very young at the time, Alva took the time to be my friend and pay attention to me. He will be missed, but not left out of our memory. Rev. E. Frank & Johna J.
