Waneta Faye Spencer, age 81, of Newcomerstown and formerly of Gallipolis, died Monday January 22, 2007 in the home of her sister, Eileen Elliott and her niece, Diana Elliott, and her great nephew, Troy Barthalow, where she had made her home. Born June 11, 1925 in Gallipolis, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Virgie Shivley Rife. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her first husband, Paul Harrison, by her second husband Roland G. Spencer, by two-step children, Terri Spencer, and Jeff Spencer, and by six brothers and sisters, Hazel May rife, Goldie Marie Rife, Sara Summers, Calvin Rife, Francis Rife, and Merch Rife.
She was a formerly cashier at the A &P grocery in Gallipolis, and worked for many years at Kroger’s in Columbus. She was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Westerville.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Friday January 26, 2007 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home 810 2nd. Ave. Gallipolis, with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in gravel Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5-8 PM.
