
Charles Richard ‘Charlie’ Houck, age 45, of Bidwell ‘Went to be with our Lord and Savior’ on Sunday November 18, 2007 at Holzer Medical Center. His death was unexpected.
Born January 4, 1962 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Denver Harvey and Wilma Maxine Rice Houck. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by a sister in law, Ellen Houck, by 2 nieces, Patricia Marie Simpkins, and Dorothy Carol Simpkins, and by a great niece, Katie Ireland.
Charlie attended Gallia Academy High School. He was employed as a mechanic for the Gallia County Local Schools, where he had worked for 17 years. He previously worked at Harry and Lanny’s service station on Vine Street. He was a member of Morning Dawn Lodge #7.

Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Wednesday November 21, 2007 at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Barcus officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM. and at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to services.
Masonic services will be conducted at 8:30 PM. Tuesday at the funeral home by Morning Dawn Lodge #7.
Pallbearers will be: David Simpkins, Roger F. Houck II, James McCarty, Todd Houck, Justin Ireland, Charles North, Denver W. Houck Jr.
