Leota Cobb Call, age 88, of Crown City, died Friday evening January 31, 2003 at the Arbors at Gallipolis. Born January 29, 1915 in Ashton, WV. She was the daughter of the late Howard and Frances Shivley Cobb. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband Joe D. Call, a son Howard Call, Daughter Jo Ann James, five Brothers, Lester, Vaughn, Everett, Paul, and Melvin Cobb, by two sisters, Ellie Burris, and Clara Turley, and by a grandson Bruce James.
She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
She is survived by: Daughter: Winnie (Tom) Fellure of Pataskala, Step Son: Kenneth Wise of Gallipolis, 7 Grandchildren: Lisa Grimes, Tom Fellure, Suzanne Halsel, Brent James, Brice James, Carla Swisher, and Kristy Huffman, 10 Great Grandchildren, 2 Sisters: Esther (Lee) Walker of Gallipolis Ferry, WV and Eleanor Cobb of Sarasota, FL.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 2, 2003 at the Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Richard Unroe officiating. Burial will follow in Old Mercerville Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from Noon until time of service. Arrangements are under the direction of Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home.
Pallbearers will be: Brice James, Tim Huffman, Bill Swisher, Gavin James, TD Fellure, and Carl Fowler.
