Allene Dillon, age 88, of Gallipolis, passed away Wednesday February 5, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born June 25, 1914 in Huntington, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Vivian Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded by one son Robert C. Swann and by one grandchild, Shana Jeffers.
She is survived by one Daughter: Leah (William) Schoonover of Gallipolis; Two Grandchildren: Kimberly (John) VanMeter of Gallipolis and Robert Christopher Swann of Pt. Pleasant; Seven Great Grandchildren: Andrea and Johnathan VanMeter of Gallipolis, Jackie and Anthony Jeffers of Pt. Pleasant, Jeremy Swann of Houston, TX, Sarah Megan and Cody Swann of Pt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday February 8, 2003 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home with Pastor Archie Conn officiating. Burial will follow in Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-9 P.M.
Pall Bearers will be: John VanMeter, Walter Schoonover, Max Haffelt, Clyde Burnett, George Nash, and Bill Wood. Honorary Pall Bearers will be: Al Shoemaker and Wendell Thomas.
