John Lee Mooney, age 65, of Crown City, died Wednesday evening February 5, 2003 at Holzer Medical Center. Born May 6, 1937 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Clarence and Rosie Galloway Mooney. In addition to his parents he was preceded by one brother, Harold Mooney and by two sisters, Lucy and Norma Jean Mooney. John was a carpenter's helper.
He is survived by: Two Sons: Johnnie Mooney of Lakeview, OH and Jon Mooney of Columbus and his children, Kristin, Blake, and Lauren Mooney; One Daughter: Shari Malloy of Columbus and her children, Michael Johnson, and Margaret Malloy; Three Brothers: Alvin Mooney of Crown City, Franklin Mooney of Crown City and Clarence Mooney Jr. of Crown City; One Sister: Ivadell Hall of Lady Lake, FL. Former Wife: Peggy Burton of Columbus; Several Nieces and Nephew.
Feneral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday February 9, 2003 at The Victory Baptist Church with Pastor Gary Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Victory Cemetery. Friends may call at the Waugh-Halley-Wood funeral home on Saturday from 6-9 P.M. and at the church on Sunday one hour prior to services.
