Thomas Nipp Claxon, 54, of Grayson, Ky., died Tuesday evening at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was born Dec. 28, 1947, in Grayson, a son of William T. and Betty Dolores Nipp Claxon of Grayson.
He was a former member of the Local 181 Operating Engineers and attended the Pactolus Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Billie Jean and David L. Hoffman of Columbus, Ohio, Teddie Faye and George Kibbey of Plain City, Ohio, and Saundra Lou and Michael Brammell of Grayson; five nieces; two nephews; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and two best friends, Bruce Everman and Kenny Newland.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, at 1 p.m., at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson with Tom Riffe, John Dean and Casey Brammell officiating. Burial will be in East Carter County Memory Gardens.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
