Anna Mae Dearfield, 85, of Grayson died Thursday, Oct. 3, at her residence.

She was born July 19, 1917, in Wilson Creek, a daughter of the late William Norman and Stella Hutchinson Shaffer.

She was formerly employed with Carter County Sewing Factory, was a cook with the Carter County School System, and was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Grayson.

Preceding her in death were her husband of 42 years, Charles Dearfield; a daughter, Ruth Jarvis; and two sons, Charles William Deerfield and Clifford Deerfield.

Her survivors include two daughters, Wilma Berry of Grayson and Sue Vance of Benton; two sons, Brock Deerfield of Grayson and Harold Deerfield of Denton; three sisters, Louise Seedorf of Minnesota, and Violet Bradley and Jean Slone, both of Grayson; 25 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson. Burial will be in Old Grayson Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
