Ival Fryer, 73, of Rush, Ky., died Monday evening, Oct. 7, at her residence, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Fryer was born Aug. 28, 1929, in Rush, a daughter of the late Martin VanBuren and Viola Hall Sexton.
She was formerly employed with Weatherhead Automotive, Everman's Cleaners, Wileman Cleaners, and was a tax preparer accountant.
She was a singer with the group Faith Walkers, was a member of Rush Freewill Baptist Church, where she held the office of secretary and treasurer, and was a past matron of the Rush Chapter #546 Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death was her first husband, Paul Evans in 1985; two sons, Donald Edward Evans and Johnny Wayne Evans; and two brothers, Gomer Sexton and Hansford Sexton.
Her survivors include her husband, James Fryer of Rush; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Robyn Keller Evans of Rush; a daughter, Linda Evans Johnson of Ashland, Ky.; two stepsons, James Fryer and Larry Fryer, both of Coalton, Ky.; a granddaughter, Renee Evans; three stepgrandchildren, Amanda Sylvester, Lauren Sylvester and Jerry Fryer; and two great-grandchildren, Larri Evans and Gabriel Evans.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Rush Freewill Baptist Church with Brother Willis Mills and Brother Roger Wren officiating. Burial will be in Hall-Bates Cemetery.
Friends may call tonight after 5 p.m. and until time of the service Thursday at the church.
An Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 7 tonight at the church.
