Harry Andrew Young, age 74, of Webbville, Ky., died Wednesday, May 28th, 2003, at his residence.

He was born December 28th, 1928, in Barretts, West Virginia, a son of the late Levi and Willia Pennington Young.

He was a member of the Three Pine Freewill Baptist Church of Olive Hill, Ky., a retired Boilermaker out of local #40 and formerly of #105, a Ky. Colonel, a member of the Willard Lodge #626 F. & A.M. for 52 years where he held the office of treasurer for many years, he was a member of the Shriners El Hasa Temple where he was with the Clown Unit of El Hasa and he belonged to the Scottish Rite of Covington.

Harry was a former Democratic Chairperson for Lawrence County, Ky. and a self-proclaimed Mayor of Webbville. He was an avid U.K. basketball fan and a great supporter of his grandchildren in sports. He was a graduate of Webbville High School where he stared as a basketball player.

Preceding him in death was a daughter, Melissa Ann Young, three brothers, Richard Young, Paul Young, James Young and a sister, Julia Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00pm at the Malone Funeral Home with Gary Sparks and David Boggs, ministers. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Graveside services will be provided by the Willard Lodge F. & A.M. # 626. Friends may call Friday evening from 5-9pm and Saturday after 9:00am until service time at Malone Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Willard Lodge #626 814 Woods Drive Grayson, KY 41143 or Community Hospice 124 Vinson Blvd. Louisa, KY 41230. May I express my sympathy in the passing of Harry Young. I never met him but I heard my dad talk about Webb Young. My dad's family came from Irish Creek and my grandfather was Wilford Young, son of Daniel B. and Mary J. Young.
