Sarah Irene Houck Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1914 - 2003 Sara Irene Houck, 89, of Hitchins died Sunday at her residence following a long illness. She as born September 22, 1914 in Coal River WV, a daughter of the late Andy and Mary Cox Messer. Her husband Raymond “John” Houck, a son, Raymond Bruce Houck Jr., three brothers Earl, Harl, and Carl Messer; three sisters, Grace Branham, Maye Greer and Faye King, one son in law William Guskey preceded her in death. Her survivors include: One son: Ronald Houck Hitchins Three Daughters: Mary Guskey Helen Boothe Sondra Hill One son in law: Dallas Boothe 12 Grandchildren 19 Great Grandchildren Pallbearers will be: Ron, Tom, and Lynn Houck, Dal Boothe, Casey Swanson, Phillip Harris, and Mark Stapleton. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday 2:00 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home by the ministers Dallas Boothe and Lionel Kozee. Burial will be in the East Carter Co. Memory Gardens. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 at the Malone Funeral Home. Condolences can be sent to www.timeformemory.com/malone.

Ebbie,Helen, Sonya, Ronnie I just wanted to take a few moments to express my personal sympathy to you all and your families upon the passing of Aunt Irene. We share in your loss and regret that I am unable to attend the visitation and funereal services. Irene was always special to my mom and dad and I will always remember the visits when John and Irene came to South Shore to visit. I was a little feller then but I do remember. I regret that I did not visit Irene more over the last few years but I did appreciate her coming to the reunions in Jume. I hope to see you all later on. May God the Father bless you all in this time of grief and may His Son Jesus draw you close. May the Holy Spirit give you comfort and strength over the next few days and in the future. Lowell
