I had the pleasure of visiting your mother in her home with hospice. She was always a pleasure to visit. She talked often of her children and especially her love for her grandchildren. She talked about them at most ever visit. During one visit with your mother I had noticed she had been going through old cookbooks and I had told her about a cake that my mother-in-law had made for my husband when he was young. He said it was an applesauce cake and he would love to find the recipe for it. The very next visit to you mothers house that I made , she had handwritten two different recipes for applesauce cake. I will always cherish these handwritten recipes and will always mention her by name when I bake this cake.

Dear Daragh, Diane, Doug, and families, Helen called me yesterday morning to tell me about your Mom. I am so sorry and was not able to make it to the funeral yesterday. She was always kind to me and a fine lady. My mom thought the world of her too. Love, Donna
