Garnet  SmithGarnet B. Smith, age 84, of Grayson, KY, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 14th, 2004 at her residence.

She was born March 11th, 1919 in Carter County, KY, a daughter of the late Jerome and Mabel Fields Blankenship.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Charles W. Smith Jr. in 1984; one son, Gary Smith and one brother, Ted Blankenship.

Her survivors include:

2 daughters and 1 son-in-law:

Roberta “Bobbie” and John Faris Grayson

Leda “Libby” Smith Hurricane, WV

1 son and 2 daughters-in-law:

Charles “Jerry” and Beverly Smith Grayson

Patricia Smith Louisville, KY

1 brother:

J.D. Blankenship Grayson

1 sister:

Alta “Toots” Ruggles Columbus, OH

7 grandchildren:

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, January 18th, 2004 at 2:00pm at the Malone Funeral Home with Joed Rice, minister. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call Saturday evening from 6-10pm at the funeral home.
