
Frank P. Rice Sr., age 83, of Carter County, KY, died Tuesday, February 24th, 2004, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
He was born October 4th, 1920, in Carter County, a son of the late Dixie Lee and Walter Campbell Rice.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, Nelson Edward Rice.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Grayson and a WWII Army Air Corp Veteran.
Frank was a retired engineer from the Ky. Transportation Cabinet after 31 years. He was a past chairman of the Carter County Democratic party for 12 years, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps. Alumni. He was an Honorable Ky. Colonel and a member of the Grand Lodge of Ky. F. & A.M., Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, S.J., U.S.A., El Hasa Shriner’s, Ashland Commandery No. 28.
Frank was also a member of the Carter County Shriner’s Club, York Rite of the Free Masonry, Masonic Trimble Lodge #145 in Grayson, Grand Chapter of Ky. R.A.M., Grand Council of Ky. R. & S.M. and the Rocky Mountain Horse Association.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 28th, 2004, at 11:00am at the Malone Funeral Home with Brad Smart, Ronnie Graves and Dr. Christopher Beckham, officiating. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Friends may call Friday evening from 6-9pm and Saturday after 9:00am at the funeral home.
