Earl Lucas, 77, of Glancy Fork, died Monday morning, Dec. 16, at his home following a short illness.
He was born April 16, 1925, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Ephriam and Della Coffee Lucas.
He was a M and W worker for C&O Railroad for 37 years. His wife, Wilma Jean McWhorter Lucas, preceded him in death on Jan. 18, 2002.
He is survived by two sons, James and Edward Lucas, both of Denton, Ky.; one brother, Marvin Lucas of Ashland, Ky.; one sister, Mabel McCoy of Rush, Ky.; two grandsons, Adam Earl Lucas and Todd Lucas of Denton; and one great-grandson, Zackery Lucas.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Malone Funeral Home in Grayson, Ky., with Clell Lucas and Darrell Cambell, ministers. Burial will be in McWhorter-Lucas Cemetery in Denton.
Friends may call at the funeral home tonight from 6 to 9 and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
