Avalon Martin Haight
Lillian Avalon Martin Haight, age 79, of Grayson,KY passed away on
Tuesday, November 30th. Mrs. Haight was born November 1, 1925 in Grayson, KY, the youngest child of the late Thomas H. and Mona Everman Martin. She was a member of the Bagby Memorial Methodist Church, was a retired school teacher and was the Economic Development Coordinator for the FIVCO Area District. She worked at the Sweet Shoppe during World War II and also worked at the Haight, Inc. Appliance Store.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Larry Franklin and Jan Leigh Haight and her brother, Roy H. Martin. Her survivors include her husband of 59 years, Harold A. Haight of Grayson; a daughter, Jerri Lynn Shaffer and husband, Arthur; two grandchildren, Carrie Leigh and Courtney Lynn Shaffer; a sister, Mabel C. Caudill of Middletown, Ohio; nephews Jim Tom (Betty) Martin of Grayson, KY , Steve (Luann) Caudill of Middletown, Ohio, and David (Barbara) Martin of Middleton, OH and nieces Diana (Jeff) McCane of Florence, Ky, Nancy (Doug) McCabe of West Carrolton, OH and Rebecca (Ray) Tolson, Middletown, OH and many great nephews and nieces.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, December 2 at 1:00 pm at the Malone Funeral Home with John Dean, Brad Smart, and George Steele officiating. Burial will be in the East Carter County Memory Gardens. Visitation will be prior to the funeral from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
