Edward  KappesEdward Allen Kappes, 76, of Dade City, FL, formerly of Hitchins, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2005.

He was born in Hitchins, KY, the son of the late George and Olive Kappes. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Harriet Kappes and Gail Adkins and two brothers, Robert Kappes and George Kappes.

He is survived by his wife, Connie L. Kappes, two sons, Robert C. Kappes of St. Petersburg, FL, and Brett R. Kappes of Tampa, FL, one daughter, Connie E. Hogan of Tampa, FL, their mother, Elizabeth Kappes of Tampa, FL, one grandson and five granddaughters, and one brother, Richard H. Kappes of Hitchins, KY.

Ed moved to Tampa in 1971 after 20 years of service in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed by General Telephone for 16 years. An outgoing man with a great sense of humor, loving father and avid sports enthusiast, he was a former member of Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club and Bay Palms Golf Club at McDill Air Force Base. He loved golf, tennis and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

A gathering of family and friends will begin at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 28th, at the Malone Funeral Home with a celebration of life memorial service following at 3:00pm.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Gulfside Regional Hospice, 6117 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL, 34653.
