Robert B Smith age 73 of Gowen died Friday April 29, 2005 in Grand Rapids. He was born in Lansing on June 5, 1931 the son of Ernie and Zelda Mosher Smith. He was a Veteran of the US Army and was retired from Atwood Corporation in Lowell. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping and grew up in the Tek-e-nink Lake area South of Greenville. He was married to Shirley Eldridge on June 4, 1977.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, his daughter Suzanna Marlin of Sidney, step children; Judy Warner and Scott Warner both of California and Randy Warner of Belding and the grandchildren, his sister in law Katherine Ray of Belding and his nephew Waldo Ray of Belding. His brother William preceded him in death.
Funeral and Committal services will be at Hurst Funeral Home on Tuesday May 3, 2005 at 2 PM with Rev. Ken Harger officiating. Burial will be in Ashley Cemetery, Belding. Visitation will begin at 1PM on Tuesday prior to the services. Memorial contributions may be given to American Heart Association or the American Lung Association.
