1928 - 2004

Albert Dewey Vining Jr. age 76 of Sarasota Florida died Sunday October 24 2004 at Heartland Health Centery, Sarasota. He was born in the Vining Family Home on Webster St. in Greenville n May 29 1928 the son of Albert D. and Esther Miller Vining. He was a graduate of Greenville High School with the class of 1946 and served with the US Navy and was a graduate of the US Naval Academy, Annapolis Maryland in 1953. After serving his country, he was employed in Detroit and later owned a business in Philadelphia PA.He returned to Michigan to work for Vining Sales and lived in Grand Rapids. He retired to Florida in 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mary Powers in 1982, brother, Charles M. Vining in June 2003 and a brother in law, John Neumann in December 2003.

He is survived by his sister, Shirley Neumann of Beverly Hills MI , his nieces and nephews, Jelane Caspar of Briarcliff N.Y. Scott Neumann of Natick MA, Susan Plummer of Indian River MI, Mary Ann Vining of Mason, Sally LeBlanc of Mason, Cathy Good of Grattan and Reed Powers of St. Petersburg, Fl, several great nieces and nephews, also his btother in law Robert Powers of Greenville and sister in law Ellen Vining of Grand Rapids.

Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday April 23 ,2005 at 11 AM at the Vining Family Plot in Forest Home Cemetery , Greenville with Rev. Jerrold T. Jones of the First Congregational Church officiating. memorials in his name may be given to Flat River Historical Museum Greenville.
