1927 - 2005
Radcliffe Nathan Carnes of Grand Rapids died Saturday, January 22, 2005 at Spectrum Health United Memorial Campus in Greenville. He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on May 21, 1927 the son of Sebastian and Marian (Bump) Gonsalves. He married Dorothy Brooks on November 23, 1957. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army 82nd Airborne. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and children; Steven and Cindi Carnes of Sand Lake; Jennifer (Carnes) and Jerry Williams of Greenville; Leslie (Carnes) and Vincent Robbins of California; eight grandchildren, Benjamin, Andrew and Erin Williams; Christopher and Patty Robbins; Andrew Lietard, DJ Benns, Kelli Benns. His sister, Florence Lyons, of Massachusetts; brother-in-law, Lester and Patrice Brooks; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph. Private memorial services will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at 3 PM at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Rev. Chuck Smith of Courtland Oakfield United Methodist Church.
