Veda M. McKay, age 98, of Greenville died Sunday morning at Twin Oaks Retirment Home in Gowen. She was born on October 6, 1906 the daughter of Winnie and Pearl Moore Shepard in Clarendon, Michigan. Veda was married to Fritz H. McKay and together they worked at the former McKay Market. She also worked for Cooper's Market and Hill's Market. She loved to hunt and fish with her husband and she was an avid bowler for many years. Her social outings in her senior years were to go to the Meijer's Northside Store six days a week for her coffee. Her husband preceded her in death on August 10. 1970 and her only brother, Vernon Shepard, also preceded her in death. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 1 PM at Forest Home Cemetery with Rev. Dr. Harry R. Johnson officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Twin Oaks Retirment Home where she was lovingly cared for these past three and a half years by Mary and Ernie Miller and Staff.
