Helen A. Middleton, age 88, of Sand Lake, formerly of Grand Rapids and Wyoming, MI died Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at her home. She was born in Grand Rapids on September 6, 1916 the daughter of Jon and Francesa Gessner Antanaitis. Helen was a beauty operator in Grand Rapids for over 50 years, owning Middleton Beauty Salons. She was a member of Fountain Street Church, the Littlefair-McGorrill Guild, the Women's Association of the Church, a member and served as President of the Grand Rapids Hairdressers' Association, and belonged to the Business and Professional Women's Association. She loved to travel and spent time in Europe especially with her relatives in Lithuania. She was married in 1935 to Morris Middleton. He preceded her in death in 1971. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Noah Anthony Harrison, in 2002 and her brother, Joseph Anton, and sister, Felicia White. Helen is survived by her daughter, Patricia Ann (James W.) Miller of Sand Lake, MI; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Samantha Harrison Stand, and her son, Jacob of Midland, Dr. Stanley (Tracy) Harrison and their child, Thatcher, of Rhode Island, and Tabaitha Harrison (husband, Brian O'Neill) and children, Rowan and Wilder of Pennsylvania. She also has siblings, nieces, and nephews in Lithuania. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2205 at 2 p.m. from Fountain Street Church.
