Melvin F. Jensen, 85, of Cannonsville Road, Coral, died today, March 2, 2205 at Porter Hills Presbyterian Village, Grand Rapids.

He was born March 30, 1919 the son of Albert and Anna Larsen Jensen.

Melvin was a member of St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Trufant and a farmer all of is life, born and raised on the family centennial farm on Cannonsville Road in Maple Valley Township. He was retired from R.J. Tower Corp. in Greenville. He married Lillian I. Miller on Sept. 2, 1944. His brother and sister-in-law, Harold and Sylvia Jensen, also preceded him in death. He loved dancing and socializing with friends, playing cards and enjoyed his collection of antique tractors.

He is survived by his two sons and their wives, Darwin and Mary Jensen of Greenville, Gary and Diane Jensen of Wyoming; grandchildren, Todd and Heather Jensen of Blissfield, Tara Jensen of Redora Beach, Calif., Doug and Lauren Jensen of Flat Rock, Lauren and Mitch Rasmussen of Wyoming; great-granchildren, Elizabeth Jensen, Ethan Rasmussen; brother-in law and sister-in-law, Calvin and Ruth Miller of Grand Rapids, June Jensen of Trufant, Janet Miller of Greenville; special friend, Flossie White of Lakeview; and nieces and newphews.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday at St. Thomas Lutheran Church, Trufant, with the Rev. Aaron I. Sorrels officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Trufant Cemetery.

Visitation is 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Thomas Lutheran Church of Hospice of Michigan.
