Betty M. Haan age 84 of Turk Lake Greenville, formerly of Grand Rapids, and Palmetto Florida died Friday January 7, 2005. She was born in Greenville on March 3, 1920 the daughter of Clyde and Muriel Wells Nielsen.
Betty was very active in the Palmetto Presbyterian Church in Florida, where she served as an elder and volunteered visiting those who were homebound. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and loved taking care of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene ’Bud’ Haan in 1993.
She is survived by her sons, Robert and Sherry of Oregon, Richard and Mary of Haslett and Jerry and Sue of Mason, her brother Harold and Peg Nielsen of Grand Rapids, her sister Marian Wall of Yuba, California, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville on Saturday July 9, 2005 at 11 AM with Rev. Lewis Moncrief officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville.
