
Lucille W. Stein age 81 formerly of Greenville died Thursday evening August 25,2005 at the Peter C. and Pat Cook Hospice Center at Breton Manor Grand Rapids. She was born in Maple Valley Township, Montcalm County, Michigan on March 6, 1924 the daughter of Frank G. and Evalena “Lena” Krueger Wheeler.
She was a graduate of Greenville High School, a member of the First Congregational Church of Greenville, the Bethany Circle of the church, served as a volunteer at United Memorial Hospital, the Red Cross, Meals on Wheels and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was employed by Gibson Refrigerator and Companies as executive secretary retiring with 37 years of service. Lucy was an avid reader and enjoyed helping people.
She married Ernest L. Stein on January 1, 1945 in Greenville. He preceded her in death in 1993. She also was preceded in death by her sister Dorothy Munger, her four brothers, Earl, Ivan, James and Robert Wheeler.
She is survived by her children; David and Betty Jo Stein of East Lansing,
Becky Stein-Wells and her husband Kevin Wells of Wyoming and Tamara and Roger Petersen of Kalamazoo, she especially cherished her six grandchildren; Kyler Wells, Rylee Wells, Kristin Petersen, Ryan Petersen , Laurie Stein and Michael Stein , nieces and nephews and many good friends in the Greenville area.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday August 29 at 11 AM from the First Congregational Church , Greenville with Rev. Jerrold T. Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at Hurst Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions may be given to First Congregational Church or Alzheimer’s Association or Hospice of Holland Home.
