Richard E. Westover age 87 of Greenville died Wednesday evening September 14, 2005 at his home in Green Acres Retirement Living. He was born in Lansing, MI on January 20, 1918 the son of Alton A. and Mildred R. Fletcher Westover.
He was a graduate of Greenville High School with the class of 1935, a 30 year employee of the US Post Office as a letter carrier, a veteran of WW II serving with the US Army and a member of the Letter Carrier Association. He was married for 58 years to Vivian I. Stokes whom he married in Greenville on August 31, 1939. She died on November 30 1997. He enjoyed travel and wintering in Florida.
He is survived by his twin daughters Janet and Dale Christensen of Greenville and Janis McClintic of Shepard MI, his son Rance and Anne Westover of Greenville , several grandchildren and great grandchildren, special friend Ellen Anderson , his brother in law Alvin Stokes of Alma and sister in law Marilyn Stokes of Alexandria, VA.
He was preceded in death by his son -in -law Gary McClintic on April 4, 2001.
At his request there will be no funeral service held. Cremation has taken place and burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice or to Visiting Nurse Hospice. Hurst Funeral Home is serving the Westover Family.
