Joe was my best friend at Rheinland Kaserne, I loved him like a brother. I am ever so sorry to know he has passed. Even though we hadn't spoken in many years, I always considered Joe one of my closest friends and dearest friends. If you contact me, I have some pictures you may want. I pray God has welcomed as the great man I know he was. R.I.P. Joe

Please present my heartfelt sympathy and deepest condolences to my extended family, the Aldrich, Chappell, and Martins, during this time of mourning. Joe was my dear brother-in-law who over the years, I came to know as a brilliant, hardworking, family man whose humble upbringing gave him a personal quality his family, friends, and business associates, would come to love and respect. My wife, Janet, loved her brother deeply. She joins me in mourning over your loss. Over the years, she often lovingly recounted great stories of her childhood and how wonderful it was growing up with her 5 loving brothers and cousins while living at Carp Lake in Northern Michigan. Joe was her Big Brother and during her formative years, there was a bond formed then that grew stronger over the years. One of the many things I remember about Joe was on my wedding day. Joe dressed in a white tuxedo, honored us with his presence and imparted words of wisdom that would help us through the years. Joe will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his passion for deer hunting and fresh-water fishing will be recounted in stories and tales told time and again by his many friends and family who enjoyed his company during such outings. When I visited him last week, he found comfort in the Lord as he professed his faith in Jesus Christ. May God bless him and may He bless our dear sister-in-law, Judy and our two nephews, Joe & Jeremy, and niece, Jennifer. Please know that Janet and I will be there, now and always, for you and that we pray your heart mend and your memories stay strong--for those we hold most dear, never truly leave us. Joe will continue to live on in our many cherished memories of him. Once again, please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time for you.
With deep sympathy & respect,
Abie Chong
