Jane Smith age 55 of Stanton died Sunday October 9, 2005 at Spectrum Health United Memorial United Campus Greenville. She was born in Oakfield Township Kent County the daughter of Carl and Kathleen Cunningham Tower. She was a graduate of Greenville High School with the Class of 1968 , a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge and the auxiliary of the Lester J. Sitts VFW Post of Sheridan . She formerly worked for the Ranney Refrigerator Co. and worked and retired from the State of Michigan for 35 years.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Diamond in 1974. She married Charles R. Smith in Stanton MI on November 25 1976. He survives along with their sons, Andrew Charles Smith of Dayton Ohio and Phillip Charles Smith of Sidney, her grandson , Phillip Charles Smith II, her parents Carl and Kathleen Tower of Rockford, brother Steve Tower of Rockford, sisters Martha and Robert Middlebrook of Rockford and Kathy Tower of Tucson Arizona, her mother in law Hazel Smith , sisters in law, Phyllis Smith and Elizabeth Smith all of Stanton and Christina and Antonio Vovides. of Dexter Georgia and nieces and nephews .
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 14, 2005 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Pastor Tim Deshaw of the Church of the Nazarene officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
