
Homer R. Phillips age 86 of Greenville died Saturday November 5, 2005 at Laurels of Kent, Lowell MI. He was born in Alma, Michigan on February 4, 1919 the son of Jesse and Ada Gould Phillips. Homer was a graduate of Edmore High School and was a veteran of WW II serving in the US Coast Guard. He married Ella G. Risdon on September 28, 1940 in Weidman. He was employed at Greenville Tool & Die for 20 years. He enjoyed playing cards almost daily all around the area. In younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting and he and his wife were active in square dancing. He was a member of the Ray I. Booth Post # 101 of the American Legion, Greenville.
His was preceded in death by his wife Ella on February 9, 1994 and also his brother Pete and sister Mary Church.
He is survived by his children and their spouses; Richard and Terri Phillips of Muskegon, Carolyn and Michael Taft of Greenville, Jesse and Jeanette Phillips of Clinton, Missouri, Rodney and Cathy Phillips of Belding, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday November 10 at 1 PM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Carl Gruno officiating. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided by the American Legion Post # 101. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of your choice
