Bessie Wood 91 of Greenville and Portage MI.
Bessie went home to be with her LORD Dec 6, 2005. She was born July 31,1914 in Belvedere Twp. Montcalm County, MI the daughter of Curtis and Bertha (Ingerham) Keeney. She lived most all of her life in Greenville, MI and was a marvelous and devoted mother. She raised two children mostly on her own, as her first husband passed away when Arlene, her oldest child, was only 10. John and Arlene Zull have taken care of Bessie for her last 14.5 years in their home in Portage, as she suffered with Alzheimers.
Bessie was preceded in death by 3 husbands: Harlow Tomas Armstrong in 1953, Albert M. Neher in 1976, and Rev. Wilford Wood in 1998 and also by her daughter-in-law, Lori Armstrong in 2005.
Surviving family include a daughter and her husband, John and Arlene (Armstrong) Zull of Portage, MI , a son Roger Armstrong of Monroe Twp New Jersey, grandchildren Rich and (Julie) Soderquist, (Jon) and Karen Zull, Great Grandchildren, Hannah and Rachel Soderquist , Jacob and Sarah Zull, Step daughter Leona Hatinger and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. One sister, Veda Outman of Six Lakes, MI an several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Hurst Funeral Home, 1801 W. Washington St. Greenville MI where services will be held on Saturday December 10, 2005 at 1 PM with Pastor David Perry of First Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery Stanton MI. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
