Kathryn ‘Kay’ E. Gordon formerly of Woodbeck Lake died Friday December 9, 2005 at Twin Oaks Retirement Home, Gowen. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on October 23, 1911 the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Radke Bullis. She married Clifford Gordon on November 25, 1971 in Grand Rapids and he preceded her in death on Jan 11, 1994.
Her sister Lucille Karol preceded her in death on May 28, 1995.
She was graduate of Grand Rapids Creston High School in 1930 and was an upholster for Meuhler Furniture CO.and Imperial Furniture Co and worked on the Glider parts in WW II. She also owned the ARBEE Upholstery Co in Grand Rapids.
Kay was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Greenville, the Altar Society, Funeral Luncheon Committee, Dr. Weaver Hospital Guild , the Woodbeck Lake Association and a blood bank volunteer.
Surviving are her Niece Sharon (Cleo) Thomas of Green Valley Arizona and Gowen, and great nieces and nephews, Michael J.Thomas of Gowen, Lisa Kaye (Steve) Beuchler and Emma Caroline and Holly Kathryn of South Carolina , Juli Jo (Todd) Dyer and Samantha Kaye and Thomas Joseph of North Carolina.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Charles Catholic Church on Wednesday December 14, 2005 at 11AM with Father Phil Salmonowicz as Celebrant. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery Grand Rapids. A Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 PM Tuesday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with a visitation 2-4 and 7-9 PM Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Charles Catholic Church.
