John C. Knowlton age 91 of Greenville died at home Tuesday December 20, 2005. He was born on September 20, 1924 the son of John C. and Minnie Klocksein Knowlton.
He was employed at General Motors Fisher Body Plant I for 38 years. He served his country in WW II in the US Army and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was a life member of the American Legion Post # 101 of Greenville and a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 7581 of Wayland.
He was married to Enid E. Knowlton for 60 years. She preceded him in death on July 29,2003. He is survived by his children; Maurice and Pat Knowlton of Dorr, Joann and Roger Jenks of Grand Blanc, Nick Knowlton and Michael Knowlton both of Greenville, 8 grandchildren, 2 grandchilden preceded him , 12 great grandchildren, his twin sister Margaret and Wallace Perrien and his care givers, Annette Six and Libby Wilson. He was also preceded death by 2 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Harry R. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery Grand Rapids. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Legion.
