
Jane Ann Sorensen age 64 of Greenville died at her home on Monday afternoon with her family at her side. She was born in Belding, Michigan on August 8, 1941 the daughter of Morris and Elizabeth King Powell.
Jane worked as an office manager for many years retiring from Industrial Engineering in Belding. She enjoyed mentoring in reading at the Belding Library, camping , going to the trailer at Pleasure Point, quilting, sewing, crafts and reading.
She married Richard L. Sorensen in Belding MI on May 16, 1964. He survives along with sons Douglas and David Sorensen of Grand Rapids, grandchildren, Adam and Victoria Sorensen and Monica Sorensen, great grandchildren, Tristan and Gavin, her sisters, Arvilla and George Foote of Greenville and Eva Smith of Potterville, brothers, Lester and Sally Powell and Darwin and Judy Powell both of Belding, her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty Jensen of Greenville , Kathy and Doug Heftie of Cape Cod Massachusetts ,Beatrice Roggon of Reed City, Helena Simmons and Betty and Ivan W. Arntz of Greenville and several nieces , nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her infant brother, sisters Helen Hankis and Mary Case, brothers-in-law, Charles Smith, Ray Hankis and William ‘Bud’ Main.
Funeral services will be on Friday April 21, 2006 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Mr. John Speck officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 6-8 PM and Thursday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the Belding Library or a charity of your choice
