One of the nicest things about the new home we built in 1975 was our new neighbors, Ray and Waneta Knight. Because they were older when they met and married, they had not children. They were the kindest, most gentle people I have ever known. Our twin daughters, 3 years old at that time, absolutely adored them and when the volunteered to baby-sit them, it was a match made in heaven. They never came over without homemade candy, cookies or cake. As the girls grew up, every celebration included the Knights. The girls would always stop by to say "Hi". Ray got sick and Waneta never left his side. She was there 24-7, usually alone. Ray was ill a long, long time before he died, but Waneta never faltered. After Ray died in 1996 she became very active in her church. The last time I saw her, about 18 months ago, she had a little trouble remembering who I was. But, as soon as I showed her pictures of the girls with their childred, she remembered. Shortly thereafter I noticed that the house had been sold. I called the church and was told that Waneta had gone North to be with her family. Today, I read about Waneta's passing with mixed emotions because I know that Ray, wherever he is, will be elated to see her again. Truly a match made in heaven. Bob and Marie Estes
