
William Freeman Jr. age 70 formerly of Muskegon, passed away Wednesday evening May 31, 2006 at his home. Mr. Freeman was a long time resident of Greenville, and was very active in the community. He was a member and past president and treasurer of the Greenville Optimist Club and a member of the Greenville Church of the Nazarene. He was the former owner of Freeman’s Auto Parts and Radiator Repair and owner of U-Stor-it Storage Rentals.
He was born in Muskegon on August 5, 1935 the son of William H. and Henrietta Assink Freeman and was married on September 7, 1956 in Spring Lake to Mary Ellen Busman. His parents and brothers, Richard Freeman and Clarence Fortney preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Freeman of Greenville, their children and grandchildren, Deborah (Steven) Smith , Melanna, Travis, and Dwan of Colorado, Clarence (Gloriann ) Freeman , Mark, Julia(Anthony) Calain, Kevin and Alex of Gowen; Kathleen ( Kenneth) Christenson, Steven, Michael , Erin, and Julie of Cedar Springs; Karen ( John) Mohler, Matthew, Andrew, Kyle , and Lauren of Illinois; David Freeman, Zachary, Ashley and Jeffrey of Sheridan and Richard Freeman, Stacey, Justin Emily, and Morgan of Gowen , great grandchildren Gavin and Joshua, his sister, Dorothy Rudicil of Muskegon, his mother-in-law, Genevieve (Floyd) Saliers of Coopersville, brothers-in-law, Robert Bussman of Grand Rapids, Daniel (Joyce) Bussman of Muskegon and George (Nancy) Czinder of Nunica and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 3, 2006 at 2 PM from Hurst Funeral Home Greenville with Pastor Tim Deshaw of the Greenville Church of the Nazarene officiating burial will be in East Montcalm Cemetery, Greenville. Visitation will be Friday June 2 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to Visiting Nurse Hospice, Greenville Church of Nazarene or American Cancer Society.
