Arvilla Grace Foote Click for Condolences      Printable Version 1927 - 2006 Arvilla Grace Foote age 79 of Greenville died at home Tuesday August 22, 2006. She was born July 7, 1927 in Otisco Township, Belding the daughter of Morris and Elizabeth King Powell. She was a graduate of Belding High School with the class of 1945 and was a member of the Cleveland Wolverton VFW Post Auxiliary in Greenville. She married George Foote in Belding on April 16, 1948. Her sisters, Helen Hankis , Mary Case and Jane Sorensen preceded her in death. Surviving are her husband George and their son Thomas and Carolyn Foote of Greenville, grandchildren, Rocky Foote and Kittie Sue Alvarado, great granddaughters, Crystal and Charlene and great great grandchildren, Gage and Reese, her sister Eva Smith of Potterville, brothers, Lester and Sally Powell and Darwin and Judy Powell of Belding, brothers- in -law, Richard Sorensen of Greenville, William Foote of Greenville Mike and Marga Foote of California and sister- in- law Mary Jane Peterman of Greenville, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday August 25, 2006 at 1:30 PM from Hurst Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Harger officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

I remember being at George and Arvilla's wedding in 1948. I had my 1st cigar at age 8 as her new pesky little brother-in-law . I don't remember what Arvilla said ,but I'm sure she gave me a rough time. We always enjoyed kidding each other. I will miss her very much.

My prayers and deepest sympathy are with George and all of Arvilla's family. I grew up on the same street in Belding as the Powell family. I have fond memories of Arvilla. She was my "baby-sitter" when I was a little girl. We have continued to exchange Christmas cards every year; I will miss not hearing from her; she was such a sweet person. Although I haven't seen her recently, I will miss her. May God bless her, and may she rest in peace.
