
Nellie B. Thorington age 85 of Greenville passed away peacefully Monday morning at her home with her family at her side.
She was born on October 17, 1920 the daughter of Bert and Mary Marshall Outman in Belvidere Township, Six Lakes, MI. She was married in August 23,1939 at Kalkaska to Raymond Thorington. He preceded her in death in 1991 and her son Stan in 2003 also her parents and brother Leslie.
She was a graduate of Kalkaska High School in 1938 and was employed by Greenville Public Schools as a teacher’s aid and attended the First Church of God in Greenville.
She is survived by her daughter Nancy (Ken) Harriman of Greenville, her son Al (Karen) Thorington of White Cloud, her daughter-in-law, Billie Thorington of Belding, grandchildren: Craig (Marilyn) Thorington, Mike Thorington, Kim Thorington, Amy Harriman, Joey ( Jean) Thorington, Lauris (Sky) Watrous, step grandchildren, Wendy Magee and Jennifer Parker, great grandchildren, Liz, Chris, Allan, Jerrod, Cecelia and Gabriel and 7 step great grandchildren, her sisters, Vera Bullard of Greenville, Agnes Wymer of Six Lakes, Nina McLean of Kalkaska, brothers, Bruce Outman of Edmore and Ronald Outman of Six Lakes, sisters-in-law, Opal Outman of Cadillac, Alice Matthews of Gaylord and Bernice Helsel of Kalkaska , brothers-in-law, John (Darlene) Thorington of Grand Rapids, Robert (Betty) Thorington of Cedar Springs , Cecil Thorington of Kalkaska and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 30,2006 at 11 AM from Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville with Rev. David Perry of the First Church of God officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery Six Lakes. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to First Church of God or Hospice.
