Judy and Family,
On behalf of Faith Fellowship Church of Irons, we want to extend our deepest sympathy to you on the sudden death of your husband and father. Lyle was a special person with a sincere dedication to serve God and get God's Word into the hands of people. Lyle had the gift of communicating God's Word by preaching, which he did in our church. I also appreciate the personal conversations we had and the encouragement he gave me. Rest assured you have many friends here at Faith Fellowship who are praying that you might experience the sustaining grace of God at the present time and in the days ahead. May the promise of Isaiah 41:10 be of comfort to you.

Dear Judy,
Amy and I were totally shocked when we received word about Lyle's sudden illness. We have been fervently praying for God's healing hand, but above all, for His perfect sovereign will.
We join you in sorrow for his sudden departure. We both will have a lifetime of memories of your dear
husband Lyle. He was always so cordial and helpful to us in every possible way.
Our Amazing Grace International Board will be forever grateful for all Lyle did last year to help AGI become a reality here in the USA. Lyle's leadership of the LMW BOARD toward granting AGI the license for Chinese will bless literally millions of God's dear Chinese
church leaders and Christians for years to come.
We will continue to pray daily for you, for God's tender presence and compassion to surround you and
envelope you in His very presence.
While we would have personally desired to be there to share these difficult hours with you, I trust Jack's presence on behalf of Amy, myself and the AGI board will assure you of our everlasting love and appreciation for Lyle and for you, Judy. All our Chinese translation team members including Lily, Jane, Emily, Joian, and other contractors are praying for you and your family.

Dear Judy & Family,
Speaking for our whole church family here at Heritge United Methodist Church, and members of our Howard City, Pierson, Coral, Sand Lake and Cedar Springs Communities. We are very sorry to hear about Lyle's passing. You and your family are in our prayers.
We will never forget the ministry Lyle has done with us. Not only the times he visited our church to keep us abreast of the work of the Gideons International was doing and how we were a part of that. The times he would stop by our church and just talk along with helping in our Baccalaureate service at our high school. He will be greatly missed.
We cannot wish him back for we know of Lyle's faith, trust and belief in God's promise of eternal everylasting life. We know of Lyle's belief that there is a better place than the earth we live upon. We need to celebrate with Lyle that this was the time for Lyle to come home. This is the time God has chosen to let His blessings fall upon Lyle.
We love you Judy and we keep you in our hearts at this time.
God's Blessings!

Dear Judy,
My father-in-law, John Damon sent me the very sad news that Lyle had passed on and into the presence of the Lord. While rejoicing with Lyle, I am so very sorry for you and for the family. Lyle was truly God's man and so wonderfully used of him.
By all the eartly lights I have to judge by, this was too soon and God could have kept Lyle here for a good long time and a whole lot of benefit for God's church and kingdom here. Surely Lyle will be sorely missed. God's ways are his own, of course, and I am sure that you submit to this loss too. But it is hard to understand.
I can say without reserve that Lyle helped me greatly in my quest to become a pastor. I remember with fondness my short summer at Oakwood and all of the help and encouragement that Lyle and you were to Janet and me.
May the Lord comfort you and bless you in this profound loss.
Do please greet Dave and Bev for me as well.
Love in Christ,
John Schuurman

Dear Judy and the Weeks family,
It is with sorrow that I heard of the passing of your beloved husband. Please accept my deepest sympathy and heart-felt condolences.
It has been a joy to know Lyle the 16 years that I have been associated with the Gideons. Lyle was a wonderful example to all who knew him by his dedication
to his Lord, his family and his ministry. We thank the Lord for every remembrance of this dear saint of God that we could call our friend and brother. Many years ago, the psalmist said it so beautifully, "Blessed is the...gracious and compassionate and righteous man...each generation of the upright will be blessed, surely a righteous man will be remembered forever." Ps. 112.
May the peace and comfort that only God can give be your strength, and may God's love and hope sustain you during these days. We take comfort with you in the everlasting promises of our Heavenly Father in John 14: 27.

Dear Judy,
It has been an honor to serve alongside Lyle as a Children's Leader in the Grand Rapids Evening Men's Class and an even greater privilege to serve under Lyle after his promotion to Area Children's Adviser. His enthusiasm for the Children's Program and wise advise to us Children's Leaders will be remembered for years to come. I have no doubt that Lyle's influence on the Children's Leaders will continue to help young believers walk a straight and vibrant path. What greater legacy can a friend of Jesus leave behind? Though I'll miss Lyle both personally and professionally, I'll also rejoice knowing that he is at peace and that we'll be celebrating at the banquet table with him in the not too distant future.
Peace to you and your family.

Dear Judy,
I just learned your husband Lyle
went home to the one who knows him best and loves him most. I know, though he is with the Lord, you will miss your husband of many years. You must be in a state of shock and grief. Although I have never met Lyle personally, I know through hearing your conversations that he was a huge support to you and your ministry. I am so glad I am the recipient of one of his many kindnesses: getting you a mum for our BSF workshop which you passed on to us. It will help me remember what a blessing from the Lord godly husbands and fathers are. You are in my prayers.
