1930 - 2006
Einer G. Jorgensen, Jr., 76, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 4, 2006, surrounded by the love of his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. The eldest child of Einer and Elizabeth Jacobsen Jorgensen, he was born in Detroit on July 7, 1930. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and served the church in many capacities during his lifetime. He and his brother Jack built upon a venture started by their father when they were young and Jorgensen Brothers businesses have served Greenville and many other communities for decades. Einer was a businessman, grocer, butcher, truck driver, salesman, entrepreneur, athlete, musician, collector, and mentor. He will best be remembered for his winning smile and his quiet generosity to others.
Einer married his high school sweetheart, Jeanne, in 1950. He tirelessly cared for her until her death in 2004. During their life together they raised five children and were significant in the lives of thirteen grandchildren. They delighted in attending and supporting the wide variety of activities the grandchildren pursued. Einer loved Greenville High School athletics and continued to attend contests until the end of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn and her family; his children: Pam and Will Nichols of Alma, Paul and Ann Jorgensen, Sue and Mark Diehl, and Debbie and Gary Huch of Greenville, Lori Jorgensen and Sheree Ekhammer of Tucson, Arizona; grandchildren: Jennifer and Christian Colby, Wilson and Elizabeth Nichols, Rick and Molly (Jorgensen) Court, Nathan and Taylor Jorgensen, Jerad and Tara Diehl, Marci and Carley Diehl, Kevin and Lesley Johnson, Ryan and Rachel Huch, and Stephanie Huch; great-grandchildren: Brayden, Brynn, Maxwell, and Isabelle; siblings, Jack and Donna Jorgensen and Elizabeth Lindsey; Jeanne’s siblings: Darrell and Sue Nelson, Hope and Bob Perdue, and Jay and Ruth Ann Drake Bilthuis; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral services are at 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 8, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Greenville, with Rev. Clayton Bates and Dr, Dan Gillett officiating. The family will greet friends at Hurst Funeral Home in Greenville on Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 4:00 P.M.
Because he supported so many different groups and organizations, the family suggests that memorial contributions celebrating the life of Einer Jorgensen by made to the cause of the giver’s choice

So sorry to hear of Einer's passing; my prayers are with your entire family. Your father touched many lives in this community that will never be forgotten. I will always remember his big smile and friendly greetings whenever you passed by him in the store, at church our just on the street. God has taken a great one and he will do wonders up above. Your family can look up at the sky and know that he is in a better place now and will once again one by one be reunited with each and everyone in his family. God be with you all in this time of sorrow and give you peace.

I was speaking of the Jorgensen family to my husband just yesterday. How wonderful and down to earth the family was. How ironic I see his passing. He truly was a good man to raise his children to be so kind. Forever I will be greatful for the kindness his daughter Debbie gave to me in school. God bless a man to share his kindness with joy!

My sympathy to you all and may God give you peace. I have been a sevice tech. for Hobart since 1972 and got to know Einer at Grove St. We searched for repair parts at the trailer and even in his barn. When someone says Greenville, I always think of Einer. His smile was contagious and showed in his eyes.

Einer was one of the nicest guys I have known.
I first met Einer when they got there Liquor license and Einer would pick up liquor from us and he turned that over to his Son Paul for a long time.
I retired and started volunteering for Habitat for Humanity for Montcalm County and he use to bring rolls to us on several ocasions.
We use to see him at the West side store when we would go in for coffee in the morning and he would come over and visit with us. He always put a lot of fun and joy into our conversations.
He will be deeply missed by me and I know many in the community.
God bless the entire Einer Jorgensen Family

Dear Family of Einer
Generations pass, generations vanish & often fade quickly from our memories; yet I share with many that Einer epitomizes a generation of strength, loyality & honor not fading or vanishing as he embraced the whole world with both arms. It is said that death is a loss of life, but NOT a loss of the relationship we had with Einer as my/our friend. With all due respect, Einer's presense in spirit will not pass or vanish. Respectfully & with Sympathy
